In March 2020, Clifton Harris appeared in ABC’s 20/20 episode covering the case of Eunsoon Jun, who was found dead in 2002 under a pile of cat litter after vanishing from her California home. The episode investigated her murder and the arrest of her live-in boyfriend, Larry Vanner, later identified as parolee-at-large Curtis Kimball. As a member of the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department at the time, Clifton contributed investigative insight to the national broadcast, which has since aired nationwide and streamed on Hulu.
In July 2021, Clifton Harris appeared before the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors during a public hearing for the selection of a new sheriff. In his remarks, he pledged to bring transparency, accountability, and community-centered leadership to law enforcement. He stated:
“I believe the people deserve a sheriff who not only enforces the law, but earns the trust of every neighborhood—especially those that have felt unheard. I will work to bridge the gap between deputies and residents, and ensure every decision is anchored in justice, fairness, and oversight.”
That same year, he also ran for San Bernardino County Sheriff, making law enforcement reform, public safety, and integrity central to his campaign platform.
